The company James Ebenistes or the story of a passion for wood through the generations.
In the 1920’s, Paul James created his joiner’s workshop at St Laurent de Cuves, a small village in south of Manche.
In 1980, his grandson, Rémi James took charge of the family company and transformed the joiner’s workshop into an international company which today employs over one hundred employees.
Remi’s passion for wood and work of art comes from eight years spent travelling around France to acquire know-how from experienced professionals.
In 1983, his main activity was making copies of antique furniture, but Remy James then decided to choose a new course for his company.
First, he turned to the production of contemporary furniture, in close cooperation with architects.
The company then started to specialize in top of the range layout projects, creating the ideas of well-known architects and prescribers for private clients, prestigious hotels, luxury boutiques and yachts, in France and abroad.
